Humans
Humans are among the most diverse of the races on earth. They are a mortal race who's average life span sits at 79 years, though there are a few that live past 100. The average height for women is 5'4"-5'8"; while in men it is 5'9"-6'3", although this varies based on genetics. Appearances are wildly varied; with skin ranging from pale alabaster to dark ebony, hair from platinum blonde to midnight black, and eyes from pale blue to deep black-brown. They are the most commonly found race, covering the globe in any spot they can make habitable.
Although generally the weaker race, they have found ways to make up for their weaknesses through technology. There are a few who have an aptitude for the arcane arts, though if discovered they are generally viewed with distrust. It's still unsure as to what makes one capable of using the arcane arts, whether it;s a genetic predisposition, or a mutation.
Gods
It's hard to say what gods are exactly, whether they're some form of higher alien life form, or if they exist solely due to human imagination and without belief in them they start to perish. They are immortal beings of great power who were once worshiped by entire countries of humans, though beliefs are no longer quite so widespread. It used to be that once they walked the world of man, corporal beings that could be interacted with. It's unknown if this is still the case. As with humans, appearances for the gods are quite diverse. Though in the case of the gods that can include wings, horns, tails, unusual hair and eye colours and more.
Faeries
Also known as the Good Neighbours. It's hard to say what the Fae are exactly, if they're some sort of nature spirits, or beings from another realm altogether. There are 2 sects to Faeries, the Winter Court and the Summer Court.
The Winter Court, the Unseelie, can be a rather unpleasant bunch. They could be considered very chaotic, perhaps more inclined to malicious intents simply for the fun of it.
The Summer Court, the Seelie, while still unpleasant to deal with, are more of a lawful type. They can still act maliciously, but they are less open about it and more apt to do so by following a series of rules and manners that are hard to comprehend by humans.

Demons
Though often thought to be denizens of Hell as per Christianity, this is not exactly true. Demons are some type of spirit or otherworldly being, and they absolutely are malicious and should be avoided at all costs, they are not the torturers of sinners as believed. Rather they have crossed into the world from some other realm incomprehensible to humankind. They will absolutely broker deals that are often double edged blades and leave the unfortunate soul brokering the deal on the losing end.

Demi-Gods
Demi-gods are those who either have a godly parent, or are of their lineage. Those with godly parents are generally the strongest of the demi-gods, while those of the lineages still being powerful in their own rights. Though most are half-human, it's not unusual for a demi-god to have a parent from amongst the other races. Though appearances generally lean more toward their non-godly parent, there are some features that betray their nature, such as unusal eye or hair colours. Demi-gods often have gifts and abilities inherited from their godly lineage; for example, those of Loki's lineage may have shape-shifting abilities. They are generally longer lived, stronger, and heal faster than most, with some having their gifts enhanced by their non-godly parent's race. Appearances, height and lifespan will depend on their non-godly half.
Demi-Demons
Those with a parent who is demonic in nature. Demi-demons are extremely adept at the arcane arts, with all of them being capable of using magic in some form or another. There are distinguishing features that mark one as having a demonic lineage, such as blue skin, cat-like pupils, tails or horns. For the more glaringly obvious markings, they will generally use a glamour to hide their nature. It's uncertain as to if there is a lifespan for demi-demons. If they aren't outright killed at birth or in early childhood, they seem to stop aging once they reach adulthood. Sadly, most demi-demons are a product of rape; whether outright, or by the demonic parent using trickery or deceit, such as disguising themselves as the spouse or lover of the target (although the shape-shifting is generally only something higher ranking demons are capable of). As with demi-gods, appearances beyond their demonic markings, and height, will depend on their non-demonic parent.
Demi-Fae
Demi-fae are generally chaotic beings in some form or another. As with other half-breeds, there are things about their appearances that give away the fact that they are not fully of their race. Although no matter what race their non-fae parent is, they are always possessing of an unearthly beauty. Eye and hair colour usually pertains to the court their fae parent is from; for example a half-fae of the Unseelie court will bear more wintery colours, such as white hair or icy blue eyes, whereas Seelie half-fae will be more summer-like with tan skin and warm colours such as coppery hair or lilac purple for their eyes. This is not always the case though. Demi-fae tend to be very adept at nature an elemental magics. Although not immortal as fae are, demi-fae do age slower and can easily live for almost 200 years. It is more common for a demi-fae to be dumped on and raised by their non-fae parent.
Vampires
Vampires are immortal beings who require blood in order to survive. They are the apex predator, stronger and faster than most of their prey, and possessing of great beauty and charm that draws their target in. The first vampire came to be after a conjurer was left infected with a virus from the demon realms. The virus altered his DNA after rapid replication, effectively killing him and leaving him as an animated corpse. The vampirism virus is passed by partaking in infected blood. Once ingested, the victim must then be killed in order to be reborn as a vampire. These new vampires, fledglings, must be reigned in by a master or they will go on a blood frenzy, driven by their hunger with no control.
Ingesting infected blood leads to a rush that heightens the senses and strength, and as long as the one who ingested the blood doesn't die, then it will work out of the system. Those who have ingested vampiric blood will feel a draw to the vampire it came from. Those who partake too frequently can become a thrall, subjugated to the vampire who's blood they drank.
Sunlight is fatal to vampires. It causes the vampiric virus to excite and begin over-replicating, causing spontaneous combustion.
Shape-Shifters/Lycanthropes
The difference between shape-shifters and lycanthropes, is that shape-shifters use the arcane arts to take the form of the animal they please. While in the form of that animal, they are granted the creature's strengths, be it sense of smell, sight or otherwise. Once back to human form though, they lose those strengths.
Lycanthropy, on the other hand, is an infliction. The exact origins of the lycan virus are unknown, though it is believed to have come from the demon realms. Those infected may take on the form of a bestial wolf at any time, except on the full moon when the change is forced on them and the moon sickness, a temporary insanity, turns them into a mindless beast. Even while not in wolf form, those infected with the lycan virus possess superhuman strength, hearing, sight and sense of smell. The virus is passed via bite while the infected is in wolf form.
